After all you will be much more passionate about your business if you have done your research and know in your gut that you have a sound product or service that you can feel good about. You also want a company that you know will not disappear in the midst of you building your sales team.</p>
<p>This actually leads to the first item to consider when selecting your company and that is the product or service. If you look back over the years there has been so company that has lasted longer than a few years that did not have a good product or service. This right away eliminates those organizations that do cash gifting or something like that where there is no real product or no real service that is delivered. Those businesses are a flash in the pan and will not have a long term business.</p>
<p>When analyzing the product or service you should look at how unique the product or service is and how much competition there is in the market place both in a traditional business and as a multi level marketing company. One example of this is a health juice company. There are many of these companies so what makes the one you are considering better and why would someone choose it over a competitor. The less competition the better.</p>
<p>Another aspect of the product or service is how easy is it to prove that the product or service works as described. The more difficult it is to prove the benefits of the product or service the more difficult it will be to sell and the more difficult it will be to enroll others to become distributors.</p>
<p>Second and somewhat related is the fact that you want a company that you know is going to be around for a while. That is a rather easy choice when looking at companies that are older than 2 years and even easier after 5 years. These companies you can be fairly sure that they will be around for a while. The flip side to this is however the fact that most of the big money earners are the generally the ones that got in those organizations at the beginning. So you have to weigh the age and stability in other ways if you want to have a potential larger reward when it comes to earnings.</p>
<p>Thirdly and somewhat related to the last item is the leadership of the organization. When a company is younger than 2 years you should look at the principles in the organization and their track records in the business. This I realize is not always that easy to do because there are many factors that contribute to an individual’s prior history or success that they may not have had anything to do with but because of their association with the prior venture you get a false sense of security. You should look deep into the prior businesses as best you can to evaluate the leadership or ownership of the company.</p>
<p>The fourth item to consider is the compensation plan. Often this is very difficult to ascertain because there are so many twists and iterations to consider and when you try to compare compensation plans you can get really lost in the minutia of the details. This is certainly difficult and is beyond explanation in this article but the devil is in the details and you should understand this or trust your sponsors explanation that it is sound.</p>
<p>The fifth item to look at is the training. This can actually be the hardest to determine because it is so dependent on your upline team as well as the MLM organization. There can be all kinds of restrictions on what you can and cannot say about your company and claims related to the products or services that this can get very complicated and confusing. This is one of those areas that you should look into and question but ultimately will need to rely on the recommendation of your enroller. This will come done to how well you know the person and if you feel you can trust them. Bottom line is this is the biggest factor in your decision to join the company. Do you trust your potential enroller to help you get the support you need to grow your business?</p>
<p>Selecting the right company is a formidable task and should not be jumped into without the proper consideration. This does not mean you cannot do it quickly because you can. Particularly if you have been in the business for a while and know a good product and team when you sense it. That is right you heard me right. You can just sense a great leader and/or a great team. They just have that extra something that you cannot explain.</p>

When marketing products, or services, to consumers, the ultimate goal is to get the items being marketed sold. The product needs to be in the mind of the consumer and stay there.</p>
<p>When the goods, or services are presented in an attractive way to the audience it is geared to, there is likelihood that the goods, or services, will be remembered after the fact. The image of an attractive man, or, woman presenting information on a certain brand of clothing for example, may catch the eye of some potential customers, who may then, unknowingly look for clothing in that brand.</p>
<p>Associating a brand with a symbol, or a character is another way of getting someone to remember the product being marketed. A young child might be watching morning cartoons, when a cereal commercial appears with a colorful cartoon character, as the central focus of the commercial. The appealing qualities of the image may get the attention of the child. The child is enticed by the commercial, and remembers the character.</p>
<p>The child that remembers the commercial with the cartoon character promoting the cereal may remember to ask for that cereal when at the grocery store. Or, the child may forget until seeing the character from the commercial on the box of cereal on the way down the cereal aisle. The child may then recall the character and its association with cereal and request it.</p>
<p>Someone marketing a product, or a service will typically be involved in some part of the process of promoting, selling, or distributing the product, or service. It is therefore important to know common things that may appeal to the group that the product is being marketed to. They may then be interested in purchasing the product being sold.</p>
<p>A marketing company trying to sell sailboat accessories may try to attract sail boat enthusiasts by associating their product with things or situations that would appeal to this group. Ads might be drawn that depict the open sea, perfect weather, a beautiful sailboat, or, people having a good time on the watercraft.</p>
<p>The product may be discreetly, or tastefully displayed somewhere in the image. For the sailboat enthusiast who remembers the advertisement perhaps the next time on a boat, or when shopping for items for the boat, the consumer might recall the association and purchase whatever brand or item that might be.</p>
<p>When a product is remembered by the consumer, it is more likely that when it comes time to make purchases, the item will be sought out. Why attraction marketing works is that by finding out the things that appeal to the audience, and using that knowledge. They can attract consumers based on the data they have, and associate the product being marketed with images that would appeal to that group. This is ultimately in the hopes that the item will be remembered and purchased.</p>
<p>Within MLM and network marketing the product or/service is leadership and training. So by giving your audience the training or know how of the business they will be attracted to you as a leader and thereby allowing you to establish a relationship with them and ultimately get them interested in your primary business. This happens over time as individuals become receptive to your suggestions as a leader. In this way even if you change your primary business these people whom you have established a relationship with will follow you when you switch business. That is the ultimate security you have as a leader using attraction marketing to draw people to you.</p>

<p>3.Develop exciting promotional materials. The problem most people make is trying to convince people to give up their time and money and register for a program by just listing event’s name, date, location and price. We all can be a bit optimistic about our offerings, but this is like hoping for a miracle. Whether you are promoting online or offline, using fliers, brochures, or emails, make sure your materials are exciting to read and communicate the full story.</p>
<p>4.Clearly convey reasons why your potential client should register. Don’t assume people know what’s in it for them. Tell them. What are the BIG, HOT, UNDENIABLE BENEFIT people get from participating in your program? Are you clear what it is? Is it something your audience really wants? It better be! And make sure to COMMUNICATE this over and over again.</p>
<p>5.Use multiple media to get your message out .Don’t limit your promotions to just fliers and emails. Use some help from fast and easy access technologies like direct mail (like postcards and complete sales letters) and add phone-blasts and faxes. Also, using simple, two- step direct response ads can be highly effective as well. Finally, don’t forget other promotional opportunities like mentioning your events during speaking engagements and including bounce-back offers in materials already being sent to your current clients. And of course do not overlook social media like Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin!</p>
<p>6.Find promotional partners. This is one of the most effective yet most overlooked ways to get eager participants to sign up , when you get others to endorse and promote your products. Depending on your audience you may find it beneficial to team up with person that has a reputation of success, a professional association/group, or other businesses that already have an established relationships with your potential clients.</p>
<p>7.Make it easy to register. I know&#8230;this one seems so obvious! Yet, it amazes me how often I personally give up on ordering something I really want because the process is &#8220;too hard&#8221; or confusing. Give potential buyers clear instructions and offer multiple choices of payments</p>

Holy cow I thought to myself. How can this guy, who was only doing marketing online for two months, do this using FREE advertising. I was speechless. I had been struggling for months to get 15 leads a day using Pay Per Click and the cost of that was eating up all the profits. How was this guy doing it. Here are the techniques that Dave shared with me.</p>
<p>First, he began to write articles on topics that are of interest in the network marking field. As a beginner Dave was not sure what those were so he researched what people were talking and started to wright articles not from his own knowledge but from what others were saying. This is very important to understand. He was just repeating what he was leaning in his research. You do not need to be an expert you just need to be able to get the opinions of experts and what better way to do that than to use Google. In his research he was able to create articles that he knew people were interested in because he knew how often they were searching for key words related to the articles. Additionally when he knew of someone that had success with a specific topic he would interview that person and put and MP3 on his blog or use the content to create another article.</p>
<p>Second, after the article was created, he would publish the article on his blog so that anyone could read the article. He would also optimize his blog so that the key words that people had  been searching for were in the key words section of his blog so that the article could be found by the major search engines.</p>
<p>Third, in order for the search engines to rank the article high, it would need to be an article that had lots of reverences to it across the Internet. To accomplish this you want to post your article on as many article sites as you could across the Internet. These links commonly called back links are what tells the search engines that this is a popular article and it should therefore be higher on the pages when the key words being referenced are searched.</p>
<p>And finally you must continue to create and post articles so your web site gets more and more traffic as more articles are created and posted across the Internet. As more and more key word popular articles get created and these articles rank higher and higher by the search engines and more and more traffic is generated for you website things begin to accelerate as the traffic increases and the site become more popular.</p>
<p>It was this very frenzy that lead to Dave being able to make over $25,000 in a two week period from only one of his affiliate commissions let alone all the people that he added to his primary business.  I interviewed Dave a few days ago and he shared some of what he was able to do in this interview. You can see that interview below.</p>

<p>Now the rest of this story is that about 4 weeks ago I began to use Dave&#8217;s article marketing techniques. I have been creating about 3 or 4 articles a week and posting them on my blog and to all the article sites. As started earlier I was spending most of my profits for pay per click and was getting around 15 leads a day. For those that have been in network marking for a while you know that 15 leads a day is quite good and you can do rather well with that lead flow.  Well I made the commitment to myself that I was going to stop all PPC and focus entirely on free advertising like Dave had been doing.</p>
<p>Here are my results: After 4 weeks the traffic on my blog has gone from 20 visits a day to over 100 a day and I have had a few days where it went over 350 visits. My lead which are now all free have risen to and average of 30 leads a day and yesterday I hit 51 leads in a single day. All FREE!!! Now I can not guarantee that you will get the kind of results that Dave and I have gotten but I can tell you that you can increase your leads if you will just follow the steps.</p>

So with his permission I am writing this follow up to his original article.</p>
<p>We are in the Information Age not the Stone Age! The techniques and approaches that were used in the past no longer hold the power and effectiveness they once did in the eye of today&#8217;s George Jetson, fast paced society.</p>
<p>It is important to understand that the days of cold calling strangers and chasing them down or pursuing the unqualified friends and family members just does not work anymore. However, the key thing here is that this is exactly what most networks marketing companies teach you to do. It is how 98% of all network marketers do it today. As Larry said it &#8220;Yet, millions of network marketers are stuck in the past, using Fred Flintstone techniques to try and lure the George Jetson prospect&#8221;. This is a great statement. Now does this mean the old school techniques to not work. No it does not and it is how most networks marketers build their organizations.</p>
<p>However, there is an easier way with modern tools. Today&#8217;s consumer has much less patience and their life is much more fast paced and they are looking for a better way. The most successful Internet network marketers today use modern technology and bring prospects to them instead of running after them.</p>
<p>Look as the contrast in the old &#8220;Fred Flintstone&#8221; techniques and the new &#8220;George Jetson&#8221; techniques.</p>
<p><strong>FLINTSTONE</strong>: Uses things like a prospect list or names list and acts like an amateur marketer calling everyone they know to find a handful of people that may be interested in their business, or NOT.<br />
<strong> JETSON</strong>: Uses emails, web sites, and blogs to attract a very targeted group of people who are drawn to the marketer.<br />
<strong> CONTRAST</strong>: It is so important to understand that the marketer is selling himself not the business opportunity. People do business with people, not with computers or companies. The marketer is selling himself and building a rapport with consumer even if they are at an early stage. This is ATTRACTION MARKETING.</p>
<p><strong>FLINTSTONE</strong>: Drives to various local business opportunity meetings and invites their unqualified prospects to sit for an hour or more meeting to listen to information about the company, product and compensation plan only to find out that there was little or no interest in the first place.<br />
<strong> JETSON</strong>; Hosts webinars or teleconferences that are often pre-recorded to be listened to by pre-interested prospects.<br />
<strong> CONTRAST</strong>: Recordings can be listened to or watched 24 hours a day 7 days a week when the prospect has the time to review the information in the comfort of their home or office. This allows the marketer to leverage their time and they only talk to the prospect after they have had time to review and absorb the information and there is a GENUINE INTEREST.</p>
<p><strong>FLINTSTONE</strong>: Thinks like a sales rep and attempts to compel the prospect and overcome the objections in order to get them into the business or use the product.<br />
<strong> JETSON</strong>: Thinks like an independent consultant and provides value to the marketplace on the front-end of the process.<br />
<strong> CONTRAST</strong>: By giving value, educating, providing comfort, confidence and trust the prospect is interested in the information being shared.</p>
<p><strong>FLINTSTONE</strong>: Doesn&#8217;t think in terms of long term relationship building with a prospect; wants to sell the product or enroll them immediately and if it does not happen is dismissed with no follow up strategy.<br />
<strong> JETSON</strong>: Understands the power of selling through education and using automatic communications to continue the education beyond the initial contact.<br />
<strong> CONTRAST</strong>: The new technique allows the natural buying cycle of the individual to take its course which leads to a sale or enrollment in the future when the prospect is ready. Its about developing a relationship for the long term, maybe even years.</p>
<p><strong>FLINTSTONE</strong>: Uses pseudo rapport building tactics to entice prospects to engage them with the sole purpose of getting an appointment to pitch their opportunity.<br />
<strong> JETSON</strong>: Builds a genuine rapport with their pre-interested prospect over time by writing articles, creating educational videos, blogging etc.<br />
<strong> CONTRAST</strong>: The new marketer has positioned themselves as a trusted advisor and a respected expert. When the prospect is ready they will contact the marketer. The prospect is also much more likely to be successful in their own endeavor because of what they have learned and the techniques that have been modeled.</p>
<p>What a vast contrast there is between the Fred Flintstone and George Jetson marketer. So stop doing things the old way and get into the modern day processes.The bottom line is the new marketing techniques allow you to operate in a much more professional way and reach many more people. This will allow you to sift through thousands of prospects and  find the diamonds that can change your business for the positive.</p>

Ahhhh WRONG! That is just not how it works.</p>
<p>First of all, people do not care about your business. Most network marketers that are online are just looking for a way to market their business, not yours. Second, most Network Marketing companies do not let you mention their name or their products other then in there corporate approved web site that every other distributor in that company has.</p>
<p>Inevitably the next question I get after telling the person this is &#8220;Well than I just don&#8217;t see how this can work.&#8221; That is the 64 thousand dollar question. How can you market online with these two givens.  The answer is that you need to help people with their problem and once you have gained their trust they may listen to what you have to say about your business.</p>
<p>This way of thinking foreign to most new marketers. They just do not see how this can work at all. How can you help someone when you do not know what to do yourself. The answer is you have to learn first. How can you do that? That is a chicken an egg situation. How can I ever get started? We my friend, you have to have a system and a team that will show you and teach you. This is not a get rich quick process. You will need to grow yourself in order to help others but with the right system you can takes years off of this process.</p>
<p>So if you are new to online network marketing, the first thing you need to do is slow down and study the systems that are out there. There are several good ones and they all have some things in common but the bottom line is you have to be more James Bond like in how you market online. The direct Attila the Hun approach does not work. It doesn&#8217;t work offline either but online you just get ignored.</p>
<p>Be more James Bond and you will be more successful in your progress.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="font-style: normal;">A</span><span style="font-style: normal;"> blog for the network marketer is much more then somewhere you put your latest article you found interesting. Todays network marketer must always have some edge to each touch they have with a lead or potential customer. If your web site looks like everyone elses then you are just another boring or web site. You have to have some pizazz that make people interested. Your site needs to give some energy off just like you would if you were talking to a prospect.</span></em></p>
<p>In order to do this you need to continually study the latest trends. Right now the last trend is the Nerve Center Blog that has been introduced by Mike Dillard in Traffic Formula 2 (TF2). Unless you have purchased TF2 you would not know what Mike has been discussing. His team has done extensive research and has proved many of the items that they recommend for your blog work and attract more optins to your site. This is the kind of trends you need to stay on the leading edge of to keep your site fresh and new.</p>
<p>I am going to list some of the items that have been recommended in TF2 for their &#8220;Nerve Center&#8221;.</p>
<p>First is to have a self-hosted blog. This is blog that is on a server that you own or are leasing. This is different than you using a blogging service such as Wordpress.com or Blogger. Additionally the server that you use needs to have the correct software to install the tools they recommend. The software that you need is fantastico.  The service they recommend is Hostgator since it already has fantastico installed and it is a very reliable and affordable hosting service.</p>
<p>Once you have the hosting server you need to install the wordpress.org software. This will give you a wordpress blog that is fairly easy to maintain for anyone that can use a common editor. The power of Wordpress is in the tools that are offered for the framework. Three areas I want to talk about are Themes, Wigits and Plugins.</p>
<p>There are many themes that are available for free or for a small fee. The recommended free theme is Atahualpa and purchased them is Thesis or WooThemes. Two or three column. One large main column and then either one column to the right that is about 1/3 to total width of the page or two smaller columns that collectively are 1/3 of the right side of the page.</p>
<p>There are many built in wigits that are pretty easy to understand but there is one that is extra powerful and that is the text box. The text box can take HTML code that can be almost anything you could imagine. A text box can hold the HTML code for an Optin box that would normally be on your capture page. This can now be right on your blog. Additionally this box can be used to have any icon and link to your other sites like social media sites of FaceBook, Youtube, Twitter or LinkedIn. You can have the icon for that site displayed and when clicked they would be taken your social site.</p>
<p>Plugins could be talked about for hours. For the most part they are easy to install. The plugins I recommend are: Tweetmeme, Sociable, DISQUS, All in one SEO Pack, WP Google Analytics, Google XML Site map and Askismet. For the most part these plugs have good documentation and are easy to install. Just contact me for more information or if you have questions.</p>
<p>Now  there are a few more items that you need on your blog. Most of this is content that you need to write and some it of it is a little technical but fairly easy to do.</p>
<p>You need to have an optin form that your prospects can fill out. This information will go into your autoresponder and will begin to market to your prospect. A good series of auto responder emails will enable to you makes some affiliate commissions while the prospect gets to know you. That subject is for another article. Lets move on.</p>
<p>Your blog should have a picture or video of you where the prospect can get to know you better and see what kind of person that you are. This is all about attraction marketing so you need your picture to reflect the image you want to project, so keep that in mind.</p>
<p>Your blog needs to have a section that has your story of how you got to where you are. This story needs one that people can relate to but at the same time has some snap to it so that you are bringing in the kind of people you want in your business. Additional pages with testimonials and other information about you will allow people to get to know you better. All of this will build your image and rapport with your prospect.</p>
<p>The more the over all look of the blog represents that kind of people you are looking for the more optins of the right kind of people you will get. Be consistent with posting content to your blog and you will have a better following. Over time there will be lots of content and you will get more and more optins.</p>

You can see each of these videos on my Youtube site or my blog. This is a summary of all those videos and the Top 10 Items. As I went through this series I realized that that I needed to clarify some of the items and also be more specific on some thoughts. So I decided to do one last article that tied all of this together and covered some of those points.</span></p>

<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Don&#8217;t talk about your primary when you are social networking.  This is a very important first step because when you are first getting online to begin your network marketing you just want to talk about your company. If you do that you will turn people off. Additionally most network marketing companies do not allow you to talk about them outside of their corporate web site. So to keep from getting into any legal issues it is better that you stay away from this completely</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Be an endorser of your product. You can&#8217;t just talk about it. You must use it and have your own story about the product. Facts tell but stories sell. If you have product stories to talk about you will find it much easier to talk about your products in an natural common way. This kind of matter a fact personal talking about your product will resonate with people. You also will be more emotional about talking about the product because of your personal experience.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Be consistent. Rome was not built in a day. It will talk time to build your relationships online. Remember that people want to do business with people not with companies and you will need to build relationships. You will have to do this if you ever want to be able to build your business to that magic 10k per month that is so often talked about.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Take action. Do not procrastinate. This can be a real killer in building your business. Remember that this is YOUR business and you must have good habit to get where you want to be. You must stay focused on what you need to do. You can have all the motivation in the world but it you are not working on the right things you will not get ahead. There are SO many distractions online you must be very focused to succeed.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">It is not your uplines responsibility it is yours. Take personal responsibility. This is YOUR business and no one else&#8217;s. You must do what needs to be done to get ahead. You will need to figure out what the means for you personally. Get plugged in with a team that will help you grow. Take your own initiative to do this. Being plugged in to a good team will be a great help but it not required to be successful in the business.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Know your product. Know your competition. You must know your product well enough to be able to talk about it. Not that you need to do that from day one but you must learn it so you know all the facts off the top of your head without having to think. This kind of know-how will demonstrate your confidence and your leadership that will attract people to you and your business. You also need to know competitive products to be able to address objections and questions related to comparing the products. Do this and it will serve you well as you grow your business.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Set goals. Those that set goals will attain them faster. This is pretty self explanatory. I believe it was Zig Ziggler that said &#8220;Aim for nothing and you will hit it every time&#8221; You must set goals. The more specific the goals, the more real the goals the better you will be a attaining them and achieving what you want out of your business.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Attend the conferences and meetings. It is really hard to convey to you how big a difference this will make in your business. As Internet Network Marketers we do not get many opportunities to spent face to face time with people in our business. When you meet people and find out that they are normal you will realize that you can do exactly what they are doing. The confidence you obtain is incredable. Anytime you can meet face to face with those in your business you will walk away being glad you took the time to meet.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Work on yourself. Take time each day for self improvement. There are many people that have attained that 10k+ per month level that we all aspire to achieve. If you take the time to learn from them you can save years off of your learning process for this business. Every person must pay his dues to learn this business. It can come from the school of hard knocks or you can learn it from someone else that has already been through it and figured out how to succeed. Which makes more sense to you. So do this and cut down the time it takes to get to where you want to be.</span></li>
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Don&#8217;t quite. This is the most important thing for you to understand. You will never succeed if you quit. This is what most people do. They quit because they are not doing the previous 9 items and get discouraged or they run out of money. Don&#8217;t be a statistic. 97% of the people who starting in this business fail. Be a 3% and don&#8217;t quite. Stay in the game until you have mastered it. You will be glad you did.</span></li>
