What Should You Know About SEO Optimization Wordpress Blog?

by Bob on January 5, 2010

An outstanding matchmaker has a reputation for introducing two people that form an enduring relationship. One of the best technical matchmakers is found in seo optimization wordpress blog. It comes with a terrific technical tool chest. Take time to learn what is included and how to use it.

Someone once said, ‘love is blind’. Like love, search engines are also blind. A search engine does not care how pretty your site looks. It does not see a tropical scene or rows of flowers and stuffed animals.

A search engine will frisk your site for words. It will comb through the material you put on your site. It will devour all the words used to educate and inform readers. Remember to be ‘word conscious’ when writing your blog because the engines will evaluate everything you share.

Your job is to write words that will allow you to be found by searchers. Think about how you search for something on the net. Consider how other people search topics on the internet. Write words that you and others use to find your widget.

Search engines may not get bored easily but they will not read everything on your site. Expect a search engine to bite off the top of the site. Put relevant content close at the beginning of your blog. Plan your content before you write.

The average search engine is going to perform some comparison shopping on you blog. It will examine text in titles and words used in links. Then it will compare those findings to your keywords and words found in your blog.

Some people rely heavily upon photographs and links in their blogs. Take time to add some text to go with your pics and link material. Try to have stellar sites link to your website. It will make a distinct difference to the search engines.

Make sure you get the word out about your blog. You can pay to have your site submitted to search engines but many are free. Start by submitting to the free sites first. Evaluate the results and then consider one or two paid engines.

There are many free directories that would love to add your blog. You should prepare a synopsis or cutaway to briefly describe your site. Lay out the point of your blog and a hook for potential readers.

Once you have mastered basic techniques you should explore extra steps you can take now. You can add meta tags to your site. This tactic helps to tell what your site is all about and what purpose it serves. When you take this step you may find you are ready to expand your adventure.

Take time to learn about tags and topics. Check out what feeds are available for your site. Discover how permalinks can enhance URLs that you use right now. Do not forget to have fun while you are working on your goals.

Keep in mind that your blog is about sharing information in a way that creates readership. You have captured someone’s attention and they pass it along to a friend. Sharing interesting and useful information in sincere, friendly manner will go far in making you an authority on your subject.

This is excellent advice. I can get a new blog crawled by Google within minutes and indexed in less than 48 hours - usually much less - but getting PR and traffic is still the hard part for me even though I am on Google's page 1 for some keywords. My best effort is PR1 in around 5 months (although the domain is older) with very little traffic still. I'm going to be looking at how I can use your advice to improve significantly on that.

    Hey Bob,

Great list for doing what very few do on their blog. Many people think of the search engines as "magic" without understanding what the "magic" really is. You show how to accomplish what the search engines want in a way that everyone can understand.

Keep providing great content and I and many others will be back for more.

    To Your Continued Success,
    Bill

  • Dang Bob, you wrote on what I have been working on this week. Are you Psychic?

Seriously though, these 2 points here:
    1. "Your job is to write words that will allow you to be found by searchers. Think about how you search for something on the net. Consider how other people search topics on the internet. Write words that you and others use to find your widget."

    2. "Search engines may not get bored easily but they will not read everything on your site. Expect a search engine to bite off the top of the site. Put relevant content close at the beginning of your blog. Plan your content before you write."

Classic stuff that I hadn' t even thought of yet. I think I need to go work on my next blog post!
