Why Have a Self Hosted Blog?

by Bob on August 4, 2009

Blogging is becoming a more and more popular way to allow people to get to know you online. The blog for the network marketer has turned from just a place where you put your thoughts to your primary web page that sells YOU. It is often called a Central Hub because it is the single point that ties all the social sites and marketing sites together. If you are using the blog correctly, you will have an optin form on your home page. This can not be done unless you have your own blog or commonly known as a self  hosted blog.

Additionally you want the flexibility to do anything on your site because it is your home page. When using a service, every time they make a change or upgrade you have to change at the same time and that sometimes breaks things that you have previously setup.

Also with a self hosted blog you can make backup copies to your local system so if something happens to the server you can restore from the copy. Now this is a rare event but more commonly is you make major changes to your site and you want to make a copy of it before you start so if something goes wrong you can always go back.

There are other reasons but these are the top 3. The most important being to be able to have the optin form on your page. I get several leads a week from my blog and more importantly these are good leads because they have already gotten to know me and realize the value I can offer. They are also FREE.

Until next time

Bob
